Organization is something that plagues just about everyone. Whether someone is organizationally adept and keeps everything in its place, or whether it is something to struggle with on an ongoing basis, people are always looking for solutions. One way to keep ahead of the clutter is by maintaining a collection of small cardboard boxes for a variety of uses.
One use of small boxes is organizing childrens toys. From Legos to Barbie shoes to Harry Potter or baseball collector cards, these boxes will have loads of uses. Those tiny items can be sorted and the boxes labeled. They are even good for individually packing doll clothes or accessories. Almost any small toy can find a home in a little box. Then when the child is ready to play, he can take just the needed boxes out instead of large boxes and misplacing all of the contents. Even if the child is too young to read, the boxes can be coded with pictures of the items or color-coded. Another good use for small boxes is for storing jewelry. Storing this way prevents jewelry from becoming tangled or scratched, and the smaller the box, single pieces can be stored. They can also be organized by type. It is great way to keep earrings together or a single necklace. Boxes are good for travel with jewelry as well and though they may take up a bit of space, they not only keep things from tangling, but also add protection from damage.
Another great use for a collection of smaller cardboard boxes is storing pictures and photos. Often mementos and photos are tossed into great big boxes to cover years of memories. Instead of this, put a few photos or mementos in a small cardboard box, and label the box. Then they could even be stored together in a larger box but by keeping things separate, they maintain better organization. No matter the purpose, it is a great idea to keep some small sized cardboard boxes on hand. There will always be something for them and organization can make things much easier.
